HEMP: A Super Food.
Hemp consumed in the form of seeds or oil has so many nutritional benefits. The seeds are bursting with minerals, proteins, vitamins and fibres and also contain a fine balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. Not many other oils contain this ideal ratio of 1:3, which can help prevent cardiovascular disorders and inflammatory diseases. This unique ratio can also be found in flax seeds and in fish like salmon, which, like hemp can also provide a complete source of protein. This balance of fatty acids in hemp seeds and oil is ideal for lowering the level of cholesterol in the blood and improving the health of the arteries. In addition to its richness in nutrients, hemp oil is very low in saturated fats.
